Manny Langstraat for Brookings County Sheriff

I am proud to serve the people of Brookings County and have dedicated my career to protecting and supporting the communities that make this county such a great place to live and raise a family. I bring 18 years of law enforcement experience, including service in the United States Air Force Security Forces and more than 12 years with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, where I currently serve as a Patrol Sergeant.

Throughout my career, I have worked in patrol operations, investigations, K9 operations, SWAT, and leadership roles that have given me firsthand experience with the challenges facing both law enforcement and our communities. I believe strong leadership starts with accountability, professionalism, and maintaining the public’s trust. As Sheriff, I will continue working to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the public while ensuring deputies have the training, equipment, and support needed to safely and effectively serve Brookings County.

This campaign is built around transparency, communication, and community involvement. I want residents to feel informed, heard, and connected to their Sheriff’s Office. This website is a place where community members can learn more about my vision for Brookings County, stay informed about campaign events and updates, ask questions, and engage directly with the campaign as we work together toward a safer and stronger future for our county.
